Inspector Protector and the
Colossal Corrosion Fighters

See Select pages from Inspector ProtectorDeveloped in coordination with NACE members, NACE staff and educators, this Story Book introduces the concept of corrosion to children ages 9-15. Inspector Protector and his gang of "colossal corrosion fighters" battle corrosion while entertaining children through this exciting, action-packed adventure. It is designed to capture student's imaginations while meeting science curriculum requirements.

Through this and other programs, the NACE Foundation hopes to:

  • Raise student's interest level in science (specifically corrosion science) by connecting classroom instruction to real world experiences.
  • Cultivate a future work force targeted at the field of science and corrosion engineering.
  • Educate the public about the health, safety and environmental dangers of corrosion and it's prevention and/or control.

Strategic Planning:

We will move forward with this program through an aggressive strategic planning process which will focus on the following:

  • Distribute to targeted schools
  • Distribute to targeted international locations
  • Target and design promotional / merchandising items
  • Create new storyline
  • Translate into Spanish

This Story Book can be used by a guest classroom speaker, by science teachers or it can be used as a corporate promotional/educational piece. It conceptualizes corrosion in such a way that the general public can understand and appreciate the ongoing challenges that corrosion presents to individuals and industry.
