NACE Foundation Becomes Materials
Camp Collaborator with ASM

The NACE Foundation recently increased their participation with the ASM Materials Education Foundation. The NACE Foundation and ASM funded 10 Teachers Camps throughout the summer of 2005. These camps took place in various locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. (Click here for a listing with Camp pictures.)

In addition, the NACE Foundation has designed a corrosion component, known as the corrosion toolkit (cKit), which was presented to the teachers (free of charge) during the Teacher Camps. The cKit provided teachers with six corrosion based experiments along with the necessary materials to perform the experiments. The cKit contains other valuable information including a video on corrosion, background information on corrosion and a Teacher's Guide which contains directions to the experiments as well as activity extensions and ideas for easy implementation into their classroom curriculum.

The cKit program was made possible through a 3-year financial commitment with Carboline. They made a major contribution of $25,000/year in support of this program and have issued a direct challenge to other companies in the industry to match their donation in support of Foundation programs.
