This scholarship was created to recognize outstanding students with a permanent residence within the NACE Eastern Area who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of science and/or engineering.
This year, the NACE Foundation will distribute the following on behalf of the NACE Eastern Area:
- One (1) academic scholarship in the amount of $3,000
(undergraduate)
1. Eligibility Requirements
- Funding is available to undergraduate students currently enrolled
full-time in an accredited Engineering or Physical Science degree program.
- Students eligible for this scholarship must have a permanent address (not school address) that lies within the boundaries of the Eastern Area. This includes: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Indiana (except the following counties: La Grange, Steuben, DeKalb, Noble, Elkhart, Kosciusko, Fulton, Cass, White, Pulaski, Marshall, St. Joseph, LaPorte, Clinton, Tippecanoe, Warren, Montgomery, Benton, Vermillon, Jasper, Lake, Starke, Porter, Newton and Parke), Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan (except the following counties: Berrient, Cass and Van Buren), Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia.
- Applicants are required to have a current grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
- Students enrolled in 2-year or junior colleges are eligible to apply.
- Post-doctorate students are not eligible.
2. Candidate Evaluation The following information should be included for review by the Selection Committee:
- One copy of completed application;
- Academic transcript, including description of grading system for student performance;
- Two recommendations from educators or employers familiar with applicants background;
- Individual profile statement of 500 words or less, describing career plans, leadership roles, reports on special projects, work experience and community involvement.
