Executive Director
Manny Mones has over 25 years of experience building non-profit organizations and producing world-class events. Manny holds a Masters degree from the University of South Florida where he grew up, but has spent most of his professional life in the Houston area. Manny is a multifaceted Executive with a proven track record of success within profit and non-profit industries. Management expertise includes association management, business development, community relations, international relations, event/meeting management, PR, cost reduction, marketing, fundraising and team building.
Manny has worked with such non-profits as the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston and the Center for Hearing and Speech, formerly known as the Houston School for Deaf Children. At United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston, Manny took the organization from a struggling, grass roots movement with a minimal budget to a thriving force in the allied medical non-profit community with a $2 million budget. At the Center for Hearing and Speech, Manny helped the school through his fund raising, marketing and public relations efforts, grow enrollment to its maximum capacity within six months, and he orchestrated an annual special event that garnered the school over $250,000 per year. He also began an endowment campaign during his tenure, which to date has over eight million dollars.
Manny has managed volunteer groups of over 1,000 people and served on the boards of numerous local and national non-profits. In addition to this work, Manny has spent time in the private sector handling events marketing, internal marketing and public relations for the high tech industry.
As Managing Director of ASME’s International Petroleum Institute, Manny's strategic plan resulted in a global focus for the Institute as well as increased enrollment in the organization. During his tenure with ASME-IPTI, he grew the organization by 150%.
As the Executive Director of the NACE Foundation he will be leading a team in workforce development and K-12 programs that inspire students and educators to engage in the study and teaching of corrosion science.
