A prolific author and speaker on the topic of corrosion, Louis D. "Lou" Vincent brings superior technical experience and communications skills to his post as President of NACE International for the 2007-2008 term. He updated and expanded NACE's largest selling book: "Corrosion Control through Protective Coatings" and wrote "The Protective Coatings User Handbook." He has also authored numerous articles for Materials Performance, for which he has written exclusively since 1995. Vincent has given several oral presentations for NACE, mostly coatings related, and most recently on the topic of Girth Weld Coatings for Pipeline Maintenance at Eurocorr 06.

Vincent has held several NACE offices, including the following: Exhibits Chair (1995-1996); Education Chair (1996-1998 and again from 2003-2005); Member, NACE Editorial Advisory Board (1999-present); Member NACE Press Council (2000-present); and Board of Directors Director at Large (1997-2000). He is President of L.D. "Lou" Vincent PhD Inc. based in Lafayette, Louisiana, and is Director of Coating Services for Corrpro Companies Inc. He is a NACE Protective Coating Specialist, and a NACE Certified Coating Inspector. Vincent received his B.S. in business administration from the University of Louisiana; Master of Science in business administration from Pacific Coast University; and a Doctor of Philosophy in business administration from Pacific Coast University.
